From the 1st visit to this apartment, you cant help taking in the breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the bay. From then on, the objective of this project was to decompartmentalize the spaces, to remove partitions as much as possible, to create a layout that would allow light to enter and make the most of the view.

The other observation was the location of the second-floor access staircase, located in the middle of the Living room. The 1st thought was to move it. After discussion with the owner and for structural reasons, it was decided to keep it. This constraint has thus become a real challenge and a creative generating element. By playing with geometric shapes, the staircase is partially hidden by a set of black Fenix panels and thus becomes a strong element of the project. The cladding of a partition at the top with a wooden ceiling return creates a box effect and thus completes the play of geometric shapes.

In reference to projects by Brazilian architect Isay Weinfield, natural and tropical materials are used to warm the spaces and assert the urban character of this apartment. Teak and walnut are used for floor coverings and wall panels. The large ceramic slab floors in natural colours contrast with the extraordinary Frammenta Chiaro stone used for the kitchen island, the porticoes and the master bedroom.
